In 1993 Dana Stell a student of the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Science in Phoenix, AZ was an intern at Motown Records in Los Angeles, CA., where he met and was befriended by an A&R who was at the time an A&R for BIV 10 records. Mr. Cook solicited Mr. Stell to write songs for BIV 10 artist. Dana Stell, along with his mother wrote a number of songs for Mr. Cooks/ BIV 10 artists. One song being “This Is How We Do It”. Dana Stell presented the songs to Mr. Cook but Cook said he didn’t like the songs. Approximately a year later Montell Jordan released the Stell’s song entitled “This Is How We Do Do It”. In 1996 Stell’s sued Montell Jordan, Def Jam, Polygram Warner Tamerlane et. Al. For stealiing and copyright infringement.
