Gabito Ballesteros

Gabriel Ballesteros Abril was born in Cumpas, Sonora on July 23, 1999. He is the son of Mr. Gabriel Ballesteros Guzman and Mrs. Monica Abril Medina originally from Cumpas, Sonora. He is the eldest son of the family formed by 2 more sisters. His mother taught him to play guitar from the age of 8 in the Angels of God Choir of the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Cumpas, Sonora. It was there where his passion for music was born, at the age of 9 the Priest of this same parish formed a children's Mariachi that enlivened especially the religious festivals of the Parish, they met twice a week to rehearse and learn other mariachi instruments such as trumpet, violin, biguela, and Gabriel along with three other young women, They played the guitar. Later the teacher Carlos Hoyos gave him a song "EL REY" by Jose Alfredo Jimenez, to prepare it and from there he was officially named the vocalist of the Mariachi, being a member of it for approximately three years, participating in numerous events of the municipality and other towns of the Sierra to which they were invited to liven up the festivities. All the cumpenses admired the mettle and voice of this child and I remember that they invited him to sing in schools, in events organized by the City Council in political campaigns etc., gaining with all this the taste for music. At the age of 12 years old he entered the Prof. Rafael N. Varela High School in the municipality of Cumpas, in which he participated for three years in the intersecondary contests that were organized every year, obtaining in each of them the first place, with this this young man tells us I decided to make music not only my hobby but my engine to seek more preparation and achieve a very important goal to MI: Burn a disc. So at the age of 14 he decided to go to the city of Hermosillo, Sonora to take a summer course and learn more about guitar and singing. Later they formed a small northern group along with other friends which lasted very little since both the accordionist and the guitarist of the group had to go to study one in Phoenix and the other in Cd. Juarez Chihuahua, at that time the Priest of the community Father Mauro as we all know him taught Gabriel to play the bass, participating as a bass player in the choir and at the same time in the group that they called DIAMANTE NORTEÑO but that lasted almost a year only. From there we began to meet in the afternoons my comrade and I, Gabriel tells us at home to take rolls and upload them to youtube so basilada and on one occasion while I was in Hermosillo my cousin Alexia Ballesteros I took some pictures because she was studying design and had been asked for a job, because Mr. Jesus Salazar contacts me on Facebook and tells me about the videos he has seen on the network, I was very excited and sent him photos and all that roll and from there, with the support of Jesus I began to upload other videos that he shared and liked and asked me another. I remember that I wanted to send something more professional and as I had nothing only my mother's guitar that connected to a speaker that had been bought from me, I asked for help from a comrade Ivan Hoyos who had more devices and microphones to go home to record me and be able to send something more professional and so I uploaded videos with microphone to the network. Also Lupita Amavizca vocalist of a group that exists in Cumpas, which is called La Corporacion, helped me to upload other videos and gave me recommendations that I still remember. On September 26 2014 receives "La Patadita" of luck by APACHE new image at the Tucson Expo Center performing with them in several events in addition to having the opportunity to perform songs on stage with "Laberinto" and Banda la llegara to name a few. On November 9, 2014 Gabito Ballesteros signs a representation and promotion contract with No Name Record's (Texas) and New Generation Music (Arizona) with which the first material is recorded on January 20, 2015 with unpublished songs by authors such as Affid Ferrer, Pepe Solano and El Cholo in addition to other songs, in the recording he is accompanied by a young group from Ciudad Juarez and El Paso La Destructiva Norteño Banda with which A high quality production was achieved and above all for the taste of both youth and the taste of the older people of this genre.
