Neton Vega Biography by Mariano Prunes Jalense la Greña Netón Vega is the alias of Luis Ernesto Vega Carvajal, a Mexican regional music singer and songwriter. Barely into his twenties, he released his first single "Nos Amaneció," in 2023 and two dozen more before he issued an album. He soon found massive success as a songwriter of corridos tumbados (trap corridos) for Peso Pluma, Luis R. Conríquez, Codigo FN, and many others. These artists returned the favor by featuring Vega on their recordings, and collaborating on his releases. His first EP, Jalense la Greña, appeared in October 2024 on Josa Records. He followed with the autobiographical debut album, Mi Vida Mi Muerte (My Life My Death) on Valentine's Day 2025; it included an army of collaborators including most of those mentioned above. Born in 2002 in Baja, California, Vega grew up listening to norteño music and began writing songs as a teenager. At 21, he released his debut single, "Nos Amaneció." The track caught the attention of Peso Pluma who requested Vega write songs for him. It opened the floodgates to requests from other artists. He found massive success as a songwriter of corridos tumbados, as his growing reputation as a peer on his own releases. Vega continued to record singles including, "Nos Anamencio," "El Plumas" (feat. Conríquez), and "Sin Ti." In 2024, he collaborated on three singles that racked hundreds of millions of plays on streaming platforms: "La Patrulla" with Peso Pluma, "Si No Quieres No" with Luis R. Conríquez, and "Linda" with Tito Double P. His first EP, Jalense la Greña, appeared in October 2024 on Josa Records. On February 14, 2025, Vega released the 23-track Mi Vida Mi Muerte. The set included a who's-who of corridos tumbados royalty including the artists form the aforementioned singles, as well as Gabito Ballesteros, Oscar Maydon, Aleman, Victor Mendivil, Armenta, and others. The long program consisted of corridos (trap and traditional), and cumbias and mariachis with rap ("Me Ha Costado") and reggaeton ("Loco") songs added for balance. The autobiographical recording offered tribute to the many musical forms that have influenced his vocation. In March, the album debuted at number one on the Regional Mexican albums chart and at number two on Top Latin albums. It entered the Top 200 at 19.
