Emmanuel Cortes Biography by Mariano Prunes Emmanuel Cortés, also stylized as emmanuelcortess_ to differentiate him from other artists of the same name, is a Mexican regional singer and songwriter. Born in Arkansas in 2006, he learned to play the guitar and began writing songs in his early teens. Soon afterwards he started to upload songs to popular social media websites, and in 2023 released a short nine-track collection titled Memorias <3. Among these was "Amor," an upbeat dance tune which blended norteño and cumbia with romantic lyrics and Cortés' smooth vocals. One year later "Amor" became a surprise viral hit, with hundreds of thousands of people worldwide soundtracking their own videos with it. Its success brought attention to other songs by Cortés such as "Eres Tú" and "Mami," showcasing his range of romantic corridos, pop, and sad sierreños. While never remotely reaching the same numbers as "Amor," these still managed to attract millions of plays. The EP Pensando En Tí appeared in March 2025. It was followed by a remix of "Amor" featuring Santa Fe Klan, which added rap to the mix. It managed to break into the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as reaching number six on the Hot Latin Songs chart. The remix was duly included in Amor x Dosis, released in late 2025.
