Alyssa Grace Biography by Marcy Donelson Alyssa Grace is a singer/songwriter with a confessional approach to songwriting and a notably visceral, anguished performance style. She landed in the Top Five of the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart with her second single, 2026's "picking petals." Hailing from Torrance, California, Alyssa Grace Proffitt started singing as a toddler, and her parents got her formal singing lessons by age seven. She sang the national anthem at events and took part in theater before first picking up a guitar at the age of ten. Soon after, she began writing her own songs, and she continued to perform wherever she could -- local theater, busking, gatherings for seniors -- throughout her teens while building a following on social media. Alyssa Grace moved to New York to launch her recording career, and she was still 18 when she released her debut single, "dog with a bone," in partnership with Artist House in February 2026. With a layered acoustic guitar sound bolstered by amplification, other instruments playing in unison, an accented playing style, and anguished vocals, it garnered millions of streams by the time she released the follow-up, "picking petals," two months later. That single, a frustrated relationship song, fared even better and made it into the Top Five of Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart. She quickly followed it with another single, "bloodstream," in June 2026.
