Electro house is a subgenre of House that originated around the turn of the millennium. Its origins are mainly linked to Electroclash and Tech House, with then-popular Funky House and French House being influential as well. The analog sound of the genre was inspired by 1980s music such as Electro, Electro-Disco, Synthpop and Acid House. Although electro house properly established itself in the 2000s, its origins were drawn to a few key tracks from the late 1990s, such as "Flat Beat" by Mr. Oizo, who is regarded as the genre's main pioneer. Other French artists like Vitalic played a significant role, but it was Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction" that would become the most important track for the genre's establishment, inspiring artists like Global Deejays and Vinylshakerz. Electro house was mainly characterized by its prominent, warm, fuzzy basslines, and punchy, compressed drum beat at around 130 BPM, with crisp high-pitched synthesizer leads and clipped vocal samples being other common features.
