"Blue Guitar" is a song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. In 1963, Richard Chamberlain released it as the lead single from his album Twilight of Honor. It was a No. 12 hit on the Easy Listening chart and reached No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Chamberlain's single is also notable for its B-side, another Bacharach-David composition entitled "They Long to Be Close to You." This is the original version of the song that became a number-one hit for the Carpenters in 1970.
Please hear the song My blue guitar is playing Why did you go away The song is saying Listen to my Blue guitar call to you While my heart is aching And breaking in two Every note repeats I want you Night and day, my song will haunt you Til things are like they were before And you are in my arms once more Play, play, my blue guitar Tell her that I love her so Play, play, my blue guitar True love will find a way, I know Play, play, my blue guitar Tell her that I love her so Play, play, my blue guitar True love will find a way, I know Every note repeats I want you Night and day, my song will haunt you Til things are like they were before And you are in my arms once more
