“Funky Broadway” is an early funk-style song written by Arlester “Dyke” Christian. In 1966, he originally recorded it with his Phoenix, Arizona band, Dyke & the Blazers. It reached #65 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Wilson Pickett eventually recorded a version the next year and his cover reached # 8 on the Hot 100 charts.
