The song was thought of at first by Larry Wade after waking up next to a woman that wasn’t his wife (hence the saying of him waking up that morning). Afterwards, he went to the studio where Terry was already playing his guitar. Larry asks Terry about what he was playing, Terry’s response was about him reminiscing. Then Larry shows him what he came up with, they both sat there to finish the lyrics, and record the demo. After recording this, Larry would jokely say to Marvin Juinor, “The Great Marvin Junior is copying my style”. Hilarious
