Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?", also written "Da' Ya' Think I'm Sexy", is a song by British singer Rod Stewart from his ninth studio album, Blondes Have More Fun (1978). It was written by Stewart, Carmine Appice and Duane Hitchings,[4] though it incorporates the melody from the song "Taj Mahal" by Jorge Ben Jor and the string arrangement from the song "(If You Want My Love) Put Something Down On It" by Bobby Womack.[5] The song was released as the first single from Blondes Have More Fun in November 1978. It spent one week atop the UK Singles Chart in December 1978 and four weeks atop the US Billboard Hot 100 in February 1979. Billboard ranked it number four on its Top Singles of 1979 year-end chart.[6] It also topped the charts in Canada for four weeks and in Australia for two weeks. Royalties from the song were donated to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and Stewart performed the song at the Music for UNICEF Concert at the United Nations General Assembly in January 1979.[7] Rolling Stone ranked the song at number 308 in its 2004 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
Sugar Sugar Ooh Ooh She sits alone, waiting for suggestions He's so nervous, avoidin' all the questions His lips are dry, her heart is gently poundin' Don't you just know exactly what they're thinking? If you want my body and you think I'm sexy Come on, sugar, let me know If you really need me, just reach out and touch me Come on, honey, tell me so (tell me so, babe) He's acting shy, looking for an answer Come on, honey, let's spend the night together Now, hold on a minute before we go much further Give me a dime so I can phone my mother They catch a cab to his high-rise apartment At last he can tell her exactly what his heart meant If you want my body and you think I'm sexy Come on, honey tell me so If you really need me, just reach out and touch me Come on, sugar let me know, oh His heart's beating like a drum 'Cause at last he's got this girl home Relax, baby, now we're all alone, oh They wake at dawn, 'cause all the birds are singing Two total strangers, but that ain't what they're thinking Outside it's cold, misty, and it's raining They got each other, neither one's complaining He says, "I'm sorry, but I'm out of milk and coffee Never mind, sugar, we can watch the early movie" If you want my body and you think I'm sexy Come on, sugar, let me know If you really need me, just reach out and touch me Come on, honey, tell me so Ooh Sugar If you really need me, just reach out and touch me Come on, sugar let me know If you really need me (need me, need me, really need me Just let me know Just reach out and touch me Ooh If you really want me just reach out and touch me Come on sugar let me know If you really need me just reach out and touch me Come on sugar let me know If you, if you, if you really need me Just come on and tell me so Ooh
