This song is about a guy who is obsessed with a girl to the point where he sleeps on her porch. She doesn't return his affections, even telling him, "Why don't you just drop dead." >> Sixteen Candles is a 1984 John Hughes movie starring Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall. Like this song, it contains themes of teenage drama and unrequited love. The band grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, where all of Hughes' films take place. In addition to the movie, the title is a play on the Elvis song "A Little Less Conversation." "Touch Me" is a song by both Samantha Fox and "The Doors." The video shows the band battling a group of vampires. Making appearances in the video: William Beckett and Michael Carden of The Academy Is... Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith of Panic At The Disco Schleprok of Gym Class Heroes (all above as vampires) WarChief, Fall Out Boy's security manager, as a priest Dirty, Fall Out Boy's special effects/lighting technician, as Stump's information gatherer. >> Fall Out Boy performed this when they guest starred on One Tree Hill in the 2006 episode "Just Watch The Fireworks." From Under The Cork Tree is the band's second studio album and their first release by a major label, Island Records. They relocated from Chicago to Los Angeles to work on the album with producer Neal Avron, who helmed albums from Everclear, New Found Glory, and Yellowcard. Avron wasn't initially impressed with Fall Out Boy and turned down the project until he heard demos of soon-to-be-smashes "Sugar We're Going Down" and "Dance, Dance." Avron returned for the band's next two albums, Infinity On High and Folie à Deux.
I confess, I messed up Dropping "I'm sorry" like you're still around And I know you're dressed up Hey kid you'll never live this down You're just the girl all the boys want to dance with And I'm just the boy who's had too many chances I'm sleeping on your folk's porch again, dreaming She said, she said, she said, "Why don't you just drop dead?" I don't blame you for being you But you can't blame me for hating it So say, what are you waiting for? Kiss her, kiss her I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late Write me off, give up on me Cause darling what did you expect I'm just off, a lost cause A long shot, don't even take this bet You can make all the moves, you can aim all the spotlights Get all the sighs and the moans just right I'm sleeping on your folk's porch again, dreaming She said, she said, she said, "Why don't you just drop dead?" I don't blame you for being you But you can't blame me for hating it So say, what are you waiting for? Kiss her, kiss her I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late Always on (always on) You said you'd keep me honest Always on (always on) But I won't call you on it Always on (always on) I don't blame you for being you But you can't blame me for hating it So say, what are you waiting for? Kiss her, kiss her I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late
