The music video displays news anchor reports about the Earth on course to pass through the tail of a comet named Eurydice, as well as displaying a worldwide panic. The rest of the video then is presented through the use of a handheld video camera. Grande is in a Fiat car as the passenger, with her boyfriend (played by Matt Bennett), who is recording. They are stuck in traffic as they try to leave the city, implied to be Los Angeles, California.[71] While everyone around them is panicking, Grande seems to be calm as she wants to get a closer look at the comet. Impatient, she leaves the car while Bennett tries to stop her, and then follows. They make their way through the crowds, but are stopped by the police who are barricading the street. Meanwhile, the comet erupts in the sky and begins to crash to the ground as the song starts. Grande manages to get through but Bennett is unable to, so he goes through an open ambulance and manages to catch up with her in an alleyway with stairs leading up into an apartment complex as Grande notices the comet in the sky. The two enter a home of a frightened family and try to leave through the other door, only for the comet to crash into the building, nearly killing both of them. Frightened, the two continue on and enter a room filled with television screens of the comet and an old man sitting at a desk. As the former two of them try to leave, the latter tries to stop them, but they knock him to the ground, and all the screens change to the same countdown timer. Grande and Bennett eventually make their way up the rooftop after subduing the old man again, who had caught up with them.[72][73] The camera is then set down, and shows the two of them embracing each other one last time until the comet crashes down, destroying everything and leading the Earth to an end.[
This song finds Ariana racked with guilt as she admits to her ex-boyfriend that she's been unfaithful. She requests "one last time" with him as a final goodbye. The song was written by the songwriting team of Savan Kotecha, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk, who penned most of One Direction's early singles, French dance music hitmaker David Guetta and Dutch producer Giorgio Tuinfort, who has worked with Michael Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Whitney Houston and Lionel Richie. Directed by Max Landis who is known for his 2013 film Chronicle, the video follows Grande making her way through panic-stricken street crowds with Earth on the brink of destruction from the fictional comet Eurydice. The singer's bespectacled beau is played by her former Victorious co-star, Matt Bennett. The Australian band Safia accused the video's concept and some of its ideas as being similar to their own apocalyptic clip for "You Are the One." Safia described the likenesses as an instance of when "big labels and/or big film firms steal ideas from small independent creatives who are trying really hard to make something different for a change." Landis acknowledged similarities between the two visuals, but denied that his ideas had been stolen. Here is the video for Safia's "You Are the One." Do you think the similarities are just coincidental? The song itself was the subject of a copyright infringement lawsuit. Grande and the other songwriters were accused by Canadian songwriter Alex Greggs of copying the chorus of his EDM tune, "Takes All Night," which he wrote for Skye Stevens. Greggs, who's worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson, reportedly sued for a cut of the track's profits. "One Last Time" was the last song that Ariana Grande performed on her Dangerous Woman tour stop in Manchester on May 22, 2017, minutes before the terrorist attack that killed 22 concertgoers in the foyer of the arena. This led to a fan-led campaign to push the tune to the top of the charts. The song entered the UK chart at #11 in the week following the tragedy, a new high after previously peaking at #24 in June 2015. Although the song was originally written about the end of a relationship, the lyrics have since become a symbolic farewell to the people who lost their lives in Manchester: As a result, the track was re-released as a benefit track on iTunes with all proceeds going to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. This time it peaked at #2 on the UK singles chart.
I was a liar I gave into the fire I know I should've fought it At least I'm being honest Feel like a failure 'Cause I know that I failed you I should've done you better 'Cause you don't want a liar And I know, and I know, and I know She gives you everything but, boy, I couldn't give it to you And I know, and I know, and I know That you got everything But I got nothing here without you So one last time I need to be the one who takes you home One more time I promise after that, I'll let you go Baby, I don't care if you got her in your heart All I really care is you wake up in my arms One last time I need to be the one who takes you home Io coi jeans sempre uguali Tu giacca Armani Le firme sui muri Tu capi firmati Giochiamo al gioco delle differenze sociali Giochiamo al gioco delle differenze sociali Tu i viaggi, i regali, le fedi nuziali Noi al massimo a scambiarci le fedine penali Giochiamo al gioco delle differenze sociali Giochiamo al gioco delle differenze sociali È stato un tipo da spiaggia o da bagnasciuga Meglio l'uomo con l'uccello che con la tartaruga Il tuo capo è firmato il mio capo è incazzato Il tuo capo è firmato il mio capo è incazzato And I know, and I know, and I know That you got everything But I got nothing here without you E sono diventato quello che hai sempre odiato E sono diventato quello che hai sempre amato (you baby) So one last time I need to be the one who takes you home One more time I promise after that, I'll let you go Baby, I don't care if you got her in your heart All I really care is you wake up in my arms One last time I need to be the one who takes you home Yeah I know I shouldn't fight it At least I'm being honest, yeah But stay with me a minute I swear I'll make it worth it, yeah 'Cause I don't want to be without ya So one last time I need to be the one who takes you home One more time I promise after that, I'll let you go Baby, I don't care if you got her in your heart All I really care is you wake up in my arms One last time I need to be the one who takes you home One last time I need to be the one who takes you home
