“Stay” is a song by producer Zedd. It features vocals by Alessia Cara and is the first time the two have collaborated. It’s a dance song with an electronic feel and some frantic beats. The lyric video premiered a day before it’s official release through Zedd’s Vevo channel. The producer first hinted at the collaboration on Instagram, saying: “Who’s ready for ZEDD x ALESSIA CARA 🎶?!?!?” The beginning of the track has an uncredited sample of Banks' “Poltergeist.” Banks answered the sampling issue in a reply to a fan’s tweet:
