The official music video, directed by Elliot Sampson, was shot via split screen and plays on the duality of head and heart. It was described by CelebMix's Katrina Rees as: The visual follows a day in the life of a particular man, and offers two very different takes. On one side of the screen, we see a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders. In his grey-coloured world, he struggles to get out of bed and start his day, he gets picked on by a gang of kids on his way to work, he misses the bus and is later targeted in the workplace too. However, on the other side of the screen, we see a guy living his best life in a world full of colour. Getting ready for the day ahead with ease, he plays ball with the gang, enjoys music through his headphones as he waits for the bus, and is celebrated at work by everyone around him. By the end of the evening, the two versions bump into each other, although whilst the man who’s been struggling is confused by it all, the happy-go-lucky version fills him hope before disappearing. Joel and MNEK (who is serving a serious look!) also appear in the video, with clips of them performing the song intertwined within the story.
This summer dance track finds Joel Corry describing his inner turmoil after meeting a girl who might not be good for him. His head is telling him to stop, but his heart is certain it's more than a crush. Joel Corry released the song on July 3, 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. He told Euphoriazine that he loved the song's concept of the classic wrestle between head and heart. "Everyone can relate to moments in life when you have to decide which path to take," Corry explained. "This year has been tough for everyone, and I wanted to bring some positive vibes and give 2020 a proper summer banger." The song features the vocal talents of MNEK. The London-born singer-songwriter has writing credits on hit songs by the likes of Little Mix ("Wings"), and Duke Dumont ("Need U (100%)") as well as his own collaboration with Zara Larsson, "Never Forget You." Joel Corry explained to Euphoriazine that he worked on "Head And Heart" for nearly nine months. He'd pretty much completed the production but felt it needed a new vocal and was unable to come up with a pre-chorus. MNEK got hold of the demo and fell in love with the song. He "delivered the perfect vocal," and also penned the missing pre-chorus. The song is both Joel Corry and MNEK's first UK #1 as an artist. As a songwriter, MNEK topped the chart on two previous occasions. He co-wrote Duke Dumont's "Need U (100%)" in 2013, and Oliver Heldens' "Gecko (Overdrive))" in 2014. By the time the COVID-19 lockdown started, Joel Corry had the track nearly ready to go. He thought about waiting until the clubs were ready to open again, but having worked so hard on the song he decided to just go for it. It proved to be the right decision; the song spent six weeks at #1 in the UK. "I realized the track was actually making people feel really good on a daily basis when they were getting in their car or putting on the radio," Corry told BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat. "Everyone was going through such a rough, weird time, where they were feeling so stressed and anxious and I feel like this song gave people an uplift."
Ba-ba-ba-dum ba-ba-dum ba-ba-dum
Ba-ba-ba-dum ba-ba-dum ba-ba-da-dum
Oh my God, oh my God
This feeling's just begun
I'm saying things I've never said
Doing things I've never done
Oh my God, oh my God
When I see you I should run
But I'm frozen in motion
And my head tells me to stop
Tells me to stop
Feeling feelings I feel about us
Try to fight it but it's never enough
My heart is certain
It's more than a crush
'Cause I'm frozen in motion
And my head tells me to stop
But my heart goes
Ba-ba-ba-dum ba-ba-dum ba-ba-dum
Ba-ba-ba-dum ba-ba-dum ba-ba-da-dum
'Cause my heart goes

Ba-ba-ba-dum ba-ba-dum ba-ba-da-dum
Oh my God, oh my God
Can't believe what I've become
I'm thinking things I shouldn't think
Singing songs I've never sung
Oh my God, oh my God
When I see you I should run
But I'm frozen in motion
And my head tells me to stop
Tells me to stop
Feeling feelings I feel about us
