"Mamiii" is an alternate spelling of "mami," a Spanish slang term used to refer to an attractive woman. Its closest equivalent in English is "Little Mama." This empowerment anthem finds Becky G and Karol G addressing their exes after leaving a toxic relationship. Both singers' former boyfriends want to reignite the relationship, but Becky G and Karol G aren't having it. The chorus translates into English as: Don't call me again, I even threw away the cell phone How toxic you are, it became harmful What goes, leaves with me How toxic you were with me make no mistake I don't want to see you anymore Becky G and Karol G wrote the bouncy reggaeton song with: Venezuelan-American Elena Rose. She worked with Selena Gomez on her Spanish language Revelación EP, including the singles "De Una Vez" and "Baila Conmigo." The track's producer, and Karol G's frequent collaborator, Ovy On The Drums. This marks the second collaboration between the two Gs after the pair joined in Mau & Ricky's "Mi Mala" in 2018. Ever since, Becky G and Karol G had talked about working on their own track. "When women unite and work together, we're able to create a meaningful and lasting impact," said Becky G. "Karol I had been waiting for this moment for a while, but we knew the song had to be perfect and represent both of our spirits and hearts. I am so glad that we were finally able to record 'Mamiii.'" During Karol G's show at Coachella on April 17, 2022, she brought out Becky G to accompany her on this song. Their performance marked the first time the two sang "MAMIII" live. Before Ovy On The Drums sent his instrumentation to Becky G, he showed it to Karol G because he values her opinion. She thought it fit Becky G perfectly. Then, when the producer was in the studio with Becky G, she asked when there would be a collaboration between her and Karol G. He figured "MAMIII" would be a great opportunity.
