Notes
“Vigilante Shit” follows a woman who seeks revenge on her lover, presumably someone who has committed a crime. Taylor and the subject of the song ostensibly obtain their revenge following a breakup – instead of getting sad, they get even. The themes of this song heavily parallel “no body, no crime”, which also sees Tayor involved in vigilantism. Musically, this song continues with heavy synths reverberating, never quite building to its climax. The sultry, building tune creates a dreamy atmosphere similar to that of “Dress” or “Call It What You Want”, but the subject matter is considerably darker.
