“Glitch” reflects on a relationship that was never meant to be. It started off through friendship, casually evolved into friendship with benefits, but somehow turned into a true romance, so unlikely that it must have been a glitch. This is likely inspired by Taylor’s own current relationship with Joe Alwyn, which, as documented through songs like “Cornelia Street” and “Cruel Summer”, started out as casual flirtation and friends with benefits before evolving into a serious relationship.
