Here, Juice WRLD comes "face to face" in his sleep with his demons. The emo-rapper graphically describes how evil grabs him and his mind becomes a "bloody scene, detached from reality." On first impression, Juice is talking about nightmares, but the song's music video indicates he's describing sleep paralysis. The Steve Cannon-directed video shows a young woman lying helplessly in bed with the condition. Sleep paralysis is a psychological phenomenon where your brain wakes up but isn't communicating with the rest of your body. Stress can trigger it. Juice often referenced his fights with fear and anxiety in his music ("Righteous," "Conversations"). He also previously alluded to sleep paralysis in his breakthrough single, "Lucid Dreams (Forget Me)" ("I have these lucid dreams where I can't move a thing"). The producers of this acoustic trap ballad are: American beatmaker Rex Kudo. His other Juice WRLD productions include "Life's A Mess" and "Titanic." He's also worked with Nicki Minaj ("Run & Hide") and Post Malone ("Go Flex"). US songwriter and producer Charlie Handsome, who also worked on "Life's A Mess." He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B, including Khalid ("Better"), Travis Scott ("5% Tint") and Jack Harlow ("First Class"). English producer Joe Reeves. He previously worked with Juice WRLD on "Man Of The Year" and "Up Up And Away." His resumé also shows collaborations with fellow Brits Ed Sheeran ("I Don't Want Your Money") and Dave ("Heart Attack"). Rex Kudo first previewed the song in early 2020 on a livestream under the title "Face My Fears." It was played in its entirety for the first time on WRLD Day 2022, December 8, 2022, at the United Center in Chicago. The track received an official release a week later under its new name.
