Notes
A heartbreak ballad that also serves as a memorial track; Keith Whitley is a cleverly written song that incorporates some of Whitleys hits within the lyrics. Morgan originally released a snippet of the song on January 8 2023. Morgan has said that he has always been a big Keith Whitley fan, and this song not only describes how Keith Whitley was “gone too soon” but a lot of other things in his life as well. This marks the second time Wallen has publicly paid a tribute to Whitley, as he released a short video of him covering one of Whitleys hits (that also makes an appearance in this song) “Kentucky Bluebird.”
