An official music video was directed by Tyler, the Creator himself and released alongside the single. It begins with velvet red curtains opening to a desert-set stage where multiple alter-egos of Tyler, every one of them representing him at a certain time of his music career through referencing an album of his, appearing in a before a tearful crowd.[1][6][7][9] Tyler appears alongside them, as they each of them explain to the audience during the song.[7][10][11][12] Throughout the video, each one of Tyler's personas leaves the stage.[6] In the end, the rapper attacks his alternate self Tyler Baudelaire (from the Call Me If You Get Lost era), viciously beating him to death
"Sorry Not Sorry" is Tyler, the Creator's straight-up apology for his screw-ups. First off, he's sorry to his fam for not coming around enough. Then he apologizes to his old crew Odd Future for his ego getting in the way of making music together. But he isn't done yet; Tyler sends apologies to anyone he hurt while figuring out his sexuality. He talks about his bi struggles, saying sorry to boys and girls he's he hurt while figuring out his feelings. Tyler has since become more open about the topic in songs like "Garden Shed" and "I Ain't Got Time!" on 2017's Flower Boy. As the verse goes on, Tyler's apologies get less and less sincere. He's sorry for turning down awkward dinner invites, not wanting to "bro down" with strangers, and driving fancy cars that wreck the planet. Finally, he claps back at all the haters who think they can do it better than him. Tyler's like "bring it on," but until then, he's got one message for 'em: peace out. Tyler, The Creator wrote and produced "Sorry Not Sorry" himself. It samples American R&B/soul group Brighter Side of Darkness' 1978 track "He Made You Mine." Tyler released "Sorry Not Sorry" on March 29, 2023, alongside a self-directed video. It starts with folks entering a live exhibition where he reps all his different eras. The visual takes us on Tyler's apology tour, where he owns up to his mistakes and how they've hurt his fam, lovers, and supporters. The setting is a farm where he battles different personas, including his Flower Boy and Igor identities. The clip concludes with one alter ego, Tyler Baudelaire, catching a beatdown from another. "Sorry Not Sorry" appears on Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale, the deluxe edition of Tyler's sixth album. He tweeted the news of its release, explaining he had tons of leftover tracks that he loved but knew they wouldn't make the cut. So, Tyler is hooking us up with some of them.
