"It Matters to Her" is about the importance of simple romantic gestures to a lady. Scotty McCreery dishes out advice to his fellow menfolk, imploring them to heed such small acts and considerations as: Telling her you love her before finishing a phone conversation Buying her favorite wine Giving her kisses whenever the opportunity arises Providing a listening ear and comforting her when she's had a bad day Scotty says if you do these things, she won't forget them, even if she doesn't show her gratitude at the time. Scotty McCreery wrote "It Matters to Her" with veteran Nashville songwriters Rhett Akins and Lee Thomas Miller. "After four years of marriage to Gabi, I've learned a few things," he said. "This song sums up some of those lessons!" McCreery previously teamed up with Akins and Miller back in 2011. The song they wrote that day, "You Make That Look Good," ended up on his debut album, Clear As Day. McCreery released "It Matters to Her" on September 12, 2022 as the third single from his fifth album, Same Truck. The record was produced by: Frank Rogers, McCreery's producer since his third album, See You Tonight. Aaron Eshuis and Derek Wells, who co-produced, along with Rogers, McCreery's fourth album, Seasons Change. Scotty McCreery became a father for the first time when his wife Gaby gave birth to their son Avery on October 24, 2022. This song's scrapbook-style music video offers a peek into Gabi's pregnancy, starting with footage of the day she found out she was pregnant. It continues with various pregnancy stages and milestones, leading to the birth of their baby boy. "In my mind I was like, 'Man, we're going through this amazing season in our life. We're expecting a child. We're getting ready for it,'" McCreery told Apple Music. "And for me, where that song even came from, it's just during that time thinking about, ‘Okay, what can I do to help her? She's doing the hard work. Let me try to make things around her easier.' For us, it's going to be so cool to look back on that in 20 years and be like, 'Man, you remember making the nursery and this and that and the other?'"
