“BURN” delivers an entrancing, yet brief, blend of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s strong suits as they emphasize the difficult aspects of love. Ty contributes a catchy hook and chorus, meanwhile Ye opts for an uncommon rap-paced flow. With this song being recorded in June 2023, Ye addresses personal topics including being dropped by most of his partnered companies in October 2022 after issuing multiple antisemitic comments, an abandoned 2024 presidential campaign, and Balanciaga’s advertising scandal which blew back on him online. “BURN” marked the beginning of VULTURES with its demo’s completion. As 2023 progressed, it disappeared from tracklists of the album, including the first official one. The track leaked in its entirety on January 5, 2024, and seemingly because of so, Ye and Ty decided to finish it for the release of VULTURES 1.
