Tropical house is a House subgenre that emerged from Deep House in the early 2010s. It usually has a slower tempo than most house music, typically around 100-115 BPM, and is characterized by lighter and relaxed sound, setting out to create summery, beach-like atmospheres. The genre makes use of organic instruments (whether they're recorded, sampled or just synthesisers set to sound organic) such as guitars (often palm-muted), trumpets, marimbas, pan flutes, and saxophones. Its aesthetics were to a certain extent inspired by Balearic Beat, Chillwave and Contemporary Folk styles. The percussion is also distinct, featuring muted, soft kicks, bright hi-hats, and gentle claps or often just simple snaps used on every other beat, as well as additional loops of shakers, tambourines, or bongos.
