On the somber "Suicidal," YNW Melly explains the depths of his pain after breaking up with his lover. The rapper thought they "were for eternity," before discovering she was sleeping with other men. Melly details his partner's love as "suicidal," as having given her his heart, her cheating on him has damaged his mental health. He references during the refrain ingesting the cognac Hennessy to help cope with his emotional distress. Florida producer Z3N (birth name Juan Guerrieri-Maril) supplied the beat. Z3N's other credits include Lil Wayne's "Don't Cry" and XXXTENTACION's "I don't even speak spanish lol." Due to Melly's incarceration on murder charges, his people came up with an animated video to promote the song in his absence. The clip pulls influences from the anime series Samurai Champloo and Fooly Cooly. According to Z3N, "Suicidal" was cut a day before Melly turned himself in on charges of first-degree murder. The song's remix features an additional verse by Juice WRLD about a doomed romance. YNW Melly and Juice WRLD previously worked together on Trippie Redd's November 2019 track "6 Kiss."
