"Princess Diana" is a drill track all about being fly, stacking cash, and being the one everyone wants. Ice Spice hits hard in the chorus, calling out all the haters and letting them know she's still getting paid. People first started comparing Spice to the late princess after a viral tweet, and the talk just kept going. In fact, Ice Spice even earned the nickname "The People's Princess" - the same title given to Diana by Prime Minister Tony Blair after her untimely death. Ice Spice released "Princess Diana" as a Like..? album track on January 20, 2023. The EP marked the rapper's first project under 10K and Capitol. Ice Spice is all about Nicki Minaj, publicly declaring her love for the Queen Barbz during an appearance on TRL. When host Jamila Mustafa asked who her favorite music artist was, Spice didn't hesitate to shout out Nicki. And it looks like the feeling is mutual – Minaj later showed some love to Spice by calling her "The People's Princess" in a tweet about her cover with Dazed magazine. All the buzz around their friendship sparked rumors that the two queens of rap were cooking up a remix of "Princess Diana," and it turned out to be true! On April 14, 2023, Spice dropped the remix of her hit track featuring none other than Minaj herself. Dreams really do come true! The "Princess Diana" remix is basically the same as Ice Spice's original version, with Minaj taking over the second verse and chorus. The "Super Freaky" rhymer starts off her verse by letting everyone know she's one of a kind and that trying to copy her style is a mistake. But when it comes to Ice Spice, Nicki's all about it and willing to give her stamp of approval. Later in the verse, she doubles down on her support for Ice Spice and even mentions their collaboration alongside a major blockbuster movie: the widely panned 1997 flick B.A.P.S. with Halle Berry and Natalie Desselle. The "Princess Diana" remix is not only a major win for Ice Spice with a co-sign from Nicki Minaj, but it's also a big boost for RIOTUSA. This up-and-coming producer has been working with Ice Spice on the regular, and he's the one who cooked up the beats for both the original and remixed versions of "Princess Diana." The "Princess Diana" remix is the first release from Nicki Minaj's own label, Heavy On It Records, in conjunction with 10K Projects, Dolo Entertainment and Capitol Records. The Edgar Esteves-directed video shows Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj dripping in luxury loungewear, flexing their assets, and getting down in a plush pink mansion.
