A collaboration between Texas rapper BigXthaPlug and country firebrand Ella Langley, "Hell at Night" is a grit-and-gravel mash-up of country twang and high-octane rap. A kiss-off to a troublesome ex where both artists list a string of little curses, their wish list of poetic retribution includes car heaters that blow nothing but cold air and getting lost in the woods. It's the sort of breakup song that manages to be both funny and merciless, a strange alchemy that leaves you grinning while feeling slightly guilty about it. The songwriting credits are a meeting of musical worlds: Joybeth Taylor is one of Langley's trusted collaborators. She co-wrote six songs on Langley's debut album, Hungover, as well as her hit "Weren't For The Wind." Rocky Block is a go-to writer for Morgan Wallen, with 10 credits on Wallen's I'm The Problem, including the title track and "Kick Myself." Ro$ama is an East Texas rapper who has worked with BigXthaPlug on multiple tracks. Production duties were handled by: BandPlay, BigXthaPlug's regular producer. UV Killin Em, known for Sleepy Hallow's "2055" and Drake's "Rich Baby Daddy." Charlie Handsome, whose resumé includes multiple credits on Post Malone and Morgan Wallen tracks.
